What to Expect and Wear

My goal is to make each session a fun and stress-free experience for all my subjects. I want everyone to feel comfortable. I allow plenty of time to photograph your family, so there's no rush.

First, I want to identify what you want out of your session during your photo consultation. This is preferably done over the phone or email. This allows me to plan and prepare for your photo session.

Once location is determined, I want to discuss what to wear for best results. I have offered suggestions below; if you still need help please ask.

While on our session, please avoid saying the word "cheese" to make your child smile. When they say this word it actually creates a fake smile. Sometimes being silly with them will generate the natural smiles we want from them. Please know sometimes you don't need a smile to make a moment priceless!

Within 3-4 weeks of your session, you will receive an email invitation to view your private online gallery. The gallery is available for 10 days for you to view, share and purchase. All orders are encouraged to be placed during this time frame to avoid a republishing fee of $25. Once payment has been received in full, your order will be fulfilled.

Clothing Suggestions

When staring into your closet and wondering what would look best, remember these simple rules:

Solid colors photograph best and patterns can be distracting. Of course rules were made to be broken, so if you have something in mind that you love that is busy please show me or send a picture and I'll tell you if it will work or not.

Fun, bright colored accessories, knits and textures look incredible and add personality to your images.

Families don't have to match to a tee, but you should coordinate. So if mom has a great outfit, pull a certain color and accent the other members of the family with that color. You don't all have to be dressed in the same color. Be creative and don't be afraid to accent with color, if you choose a neutral palette.

Please stay away from logos.

When in doubt, please ask me for suggestions.
